Cihan Bektas is a Melbourne-based photographer, who defines himself as a self-taught artist. His first encounter with photography took place at the age of ten when he was given a manually operated Polaroid camera by his father. Since then, photography became his privileged means to capture everything that attracted his attention. He is constantly looking for timeless and undefined subjects. Through his photographs, he aspires to turn the ordinary into something extraordinary. He tries to evoke surrealistic atmospheres which make the spectator dream.
