Jacopo Valentini (1990) lives between Modena and Milan. He approached Photography from a very young age and has always made personal use of this art. During the last phase of his university studies, he began to question his photographic work. He has made and continues to make photography an intense means of project development. In 2011 he enrolled at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio (CH), during these years of study he had the opportunity to do an internship at the Chilean art and architecture workshop Pezo Von Ellrichshausen. In 2014 he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Science of Architecture at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, during this period he understood the importance of Photography in his research. In June 2015 he was selected to participate in the Foto Factory Modena project in collaboration with SkyArteHD and Fondazione Fotografia Modena. In February 2016 he began attending a Master in Photography at the IUAV in Venice under the supervision of Angela Vettese and Stefano Graziani. In 2017 he obtained both degrees at the two universities: IUAV in Venice and Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio. In the same year he won the 101st Young Artists' Collective at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation. In 2019 he was selected for Giovane Fotografia Italiana 07, within the official circuit of Fotografia Europea in Reggio Emilia, and won the Nocivelli Prize. Together with Chippendale Studio he produced his first publication Volcano's Ubiquity. In 2020 he was a finalist for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award Newcomer and winner of the Refocus competition, organised by MiBACT in collaboration with the Milan Triennale and MUfoco. Jacopo Valentini has exhibited in institutions and private spaces both in Italy and abroad. Today, he is represented by: Antonio Verolino Gallery - Modena (IT) and Podbielski Contemporary - Milan (IT).
