Siqi Li (b. 1998, Beijing China) is a Chinese-born London and Beijing based visual artist whose work is primarily based in photography. Her practice is much informed by her Chinese roots which stem from a deep appreciation of its rich literacy, cultural diversity and philosophies. Her research-based work explores the notion of history, memory, longing and belonging as well as its relationship to the landscape and its inhabitants. Siqi often makes references to historical events and literature through her work and use metaphors as a mean to reveal the truth behind the material reality of a photograph. She is currently completing an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at London College of Communication.
